Finish Line

The psyche of running
As I finished mile 4 at the gym yesterday I realized that in the TC marathon I will need to run 22.6 miles more to finish! My mind began questioning and tried to make up an excuse to give up on my quest. I actually began laughing and crying at the same time as I realized that 1. this will happen and 2. I love how crazy this whole endeavor is. Over dinner last evening I was given a great piece of advice from one of our guests: "You can certainly sit on your couch and, formulate EVERY excuse why you can't or you can get up and go do it." Great advice. I plan to begin training 2x per day 4x per week starting tomorrow as I know an early workout will give my metabolism a good swift kick in the pants. I love the daily chess match I'm playing. the equation is simple though: cross the finish line, CHECKMATE......

That's awesome! 2 work outs per day even before the school year
ReplyDeleteis over! You are my hero! I will think of you when I am trying to get
myself out of bed in the morning to get out for a run. Did you register for Get
In Gear yet? 10 K!!!! If you're at 4 miles already, you can definitely do the
10k. If you need to, you could walk part of it. You still have a few weeks to get
your miles up. Little goals along the way in marathon training helped me
So much!
See ya at work,
